Related to the molcajete, the Metate y Mano are grinders used to crush corn for tortillas as well as for grinding chilis, nuts and seeds.

They are made out of one large peice of heavy lava rock (basalt), just like molcajetes.

The three legged design of these metates, have the back leg taller to aid in the grinding process.

These are heavy pieces weighing up to 60 lbs each and have become great accent pieces in many homes
